Rendered GFP Molecule BACKGROUND Depicted is a conceptual model of a fusion between GFP (coordinates from Protein Data Bank structure 1HUY) and a tetracysteine containing peptide (CCXXCC) that has been site-specifically labeled with the ‘resorufin bisarsenical hairpin-binding’ dye (ReAsH). This type of construct has proven useful for characterizing the biarsenical-tetracysteine labeling system in live cells due to ability of GFP and ReAsH to undergo fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) (see for example Griffin et al.
